Springy Shapes

Bored in the buggy or in the car?

These Springy Shapes will keep your baby busy for a while.

You need
- fabric
- elastic
- scissors
- thread
- a small box (optional)
- some rice (optional)

1. Cut two stripes, one will make your loop and the other one will be your springy part, cut two triangles or any other shapes and cut your elastic.

2. Make a long tube from the longer stripe and turn it right side out. It should be a bit wider than your elastic. Put the elastic into the tube.

3. Make the loop from the shorter stripe by folding it into four and sewing it along the edge. Then attach the loop to the longer stripe with the elastic.

4. To finish this springy part, find the elastic at the other end and line up and sew the edges, this will make your fabric wrinkled.

5. To make your shape, get the two pieces of fabric and sew the together, right sides facing. Leave a short section open and turn it right side out. You can put a bell inside or just stuff with cotton to make it soft. Alternatively, get a small box and fill it with rice to make a rattle. Once everything is in your shape, get your springy part and put the open side into the hole and sew along the edge.

6. It's ready! Easy, isn't it?

Baby Legs

Baby legs can be quite expensive. Here is a cheap and fun way to make a pair of leg warmers for your little one.

You need:
- a pair of knee socks
- scissors
- sewing machine (optional)

1. Take your knee socks. Make sure they are long enough to cover your baby's legs.

2. Cut the foot off, then cut off the toe and heel.

3. Take the middle part, it will be the bottom cuff. Cut off a thin piece on one side.

 4. Fold it and sew along the edge.

5. Turn it right side out and fold it into half to make a small tube. Your bottom cuff is ready.

6. Put the leg piece inside the cuff and line up the cut edges.
Sew around the edges to attach the three layers.

7. Put them on your baby and enjoy those beautiful legs.
